week 7 updates

there are only THREE WEEKS left of this chaotic quarter! last thursday, mary grace and i went to colorado springs to see my favorite band ever, rend collective experiment. before the concert, we took some ~photos~ on my camera. see below…..

my favorite!! my favorite roomie + me

this one shows her personality so well!

we had a lot of fun taking these! MG kept laughing that she was a “real photographer”. anyway, the concert was amazing! rend collective always puts on amazing shows. zach williams was the first opener, and he was incredible. he has a musky, low voice and he only played with his acoustic guitar. in between the second and third songs, he told part of his testimony and he’s had such a difficult life, but some really wonderful songs have come out of it all.

urban rescue was the second opener, and they really know how to put on a show! i’d never heard of this band before, but they were so fun! they had the whole crowd up on their feet, laughing along with them.

rend collective was the headliner, and it was incredible, as always. they have a special way of performing that just gets everyone excited about life, especially life with god. everyone had a huge smile on their face, because they have so much joy in their songs. partway through their set, compassion international presented about their child sponsorship program. compassion is such an awesome organization! then they came out and finished their set with a bang.

all in all, it was an unforgettable night. mary grace and i left completely elated with joy for life, in only the way god brings. i’m so overjoyed with the opportunities this life brings, and i can’t wait to see what’s to come!
