You are so welcome here.
My name is Tess, and I am a twenty-something located in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
I’m a minimalist, fanny pack wearer, and adventurer.
It’s so good to meet you.
I began living consciously from the womb. I am a nine-year vegetarian, and I am currently living a vegan lifestyle. I am a minimalist. I live without being tied down: travel and movement guide my life.
Essentially, I live my life connected to and by the universe, all living things, and my heart. I believe in the sacred energy that is housed in each of us, and that we get the incredibly opportunity to draw from that. I also believe we have an equally sacred responsibility to this world to care for it, and all the creatures that inhabit it.
That’s a lot of “hippie talk” to say that I try my very best to leave no trace of my existence except for good things. I live my life by my own principles, with as little influence from mainstream society as possible.
What is ethical or conscious living?
Ethical living can mean what you want it to mean. It means, basically, not living on autopilot. For me, that means living with constant knowledge of the sacred world around me. It means living by principles of non-violence: in my food, my clothing, my interactions with others. It means living true to myself–listening to my heart, soul, and mind before allowing others’ opinions to infiltrate my ideas and personal callings. That looks like vegan eating. That looks like minimalism in my possessions. That looks like spiritual guidance. That looks like artistic expression, endless learning, intentional travel and exploration. This blog is my space turned yours for art, poetry, and all things growth.
“Ethical living” might mean something totally different to you, and that’s okay.
Why am I writing?
I’m glad you asked. I’ve found that, through my personal experiences with ethical, conscious living, that others are curious, too. They just don’t know where to begin.
That’s where you and I come in.
On this blog, you’ll find posts about fitness, travel, social justice, and college. I write about whatever is on my heart–and sometimes, it might be a little out of your comfort zone to read, but what’s life and growth and love without a little uncomfortability? Stretching your bounds means getting uncomfortable; breaking those awkward constraints and impossible expectations placed upon us by society.
I am here to help bring you along your own journey of spirituality, consciousness, intentionality… whatever you want to call it, whatever that looks like for you.
